The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the seizure and ban on Seyyid Qutb's book "Milestones" has been lifted.
Questioning the decision to withdraw the ban following public outcry, Selçuk Özdağ asked, "If we hadn't reacted, if the issue hadn't been brought to the public's attention, would this work have remained banned?"
The Antalya 1st Magistrates' Court has issued a nationwide seizure order and a ban on the printing, distribution, and sale of the edition of Egyptian Islamic thinker Sayyid Qutb's book "Milestones" published by Beka Publications. The decision comes after allegations that some of Qutb's works were deemed criminal in an investigation in which 15 people were arrested in Ankara and Mersin.
