CANTERBURY, NEW ZEALAND, AUG 11 – The Super Round returns to New Zealand for the first time since 2021 with five matches over Anzac weekend to inaugurate Christchurch's new 25,000-seat Te Kaha stadium.
- New Zealand’s Super Rugby Pacific confirmed Christchurch will host the Super Round at Te Kaha stadium from April 24 to 26, 2026, over Anzac weekend.
- Having been shelved after three years at Melbourne’s AAMI Park from 2022 to 2024, Super Round returns in 2026 in Christchurch.
- According to plans, Super Round will feature five matches involving ten teams, opening with the Crusaders on Friday night and including Anzac Day rivalries.
- Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger said `The opening event at One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha will be a major milestone in the remarkable comeback story of our city` and highlighted community pride.
- Looking further ahead, Jack Mesley said officials are exploring Fiji as a potential future destination for a 'Bula Round' event.
