New Bill Tightens Control Over Kentucky State University

Kentucky lawmakers passed legislation that would grant them new oversight over the commonwealth’s historically Black land-grant university and transition it into a polytechnic institution. Kentucky State University students and alumni successfully lobbied state lawmakers to soften plans for strict oversight over the institution’s programs and spending and a mandated pivot towards applied learning.
