Ridley Scott Reteams With 'Raised By Wolves' Creator On New 'Alien' Movie
The project is not a sequel to Alien: Romulus and is tied to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Alien: Covenant films.
- 20th Century Studios has tapped screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski to write a new Alien feature film, with director Ridley Scott serving as producer. The project reunites the pair, who previously collaborated on the HBO Max series Raised by Wolves.
- Unlike the planned sequel to 2024's Alien: Romulus, this project will relate to Scott's Prometheus and Alien: Covenant films. The story reportedly centers on the amoral android David, though actor Michael Fassbender is not currently attached.
- Guzikowski first gained recognition for penning the 2013 thriller Prisoners, directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. His work demonstrates ability to create dread from moral desperation, a style suited to Alien's cerebral horror.
- Fede Álvarez's 2024 installment Alien: Romulus grossed over $350 million worldwide, though its planned sequel remains in limbo. Meanwhile, Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth television series continues expanding the franchise mythology on screen.
- Scott is currently producing the untitled project alongside Michael Pruss via their Scott Free production banner, with Scott Aversano overseeing for the studio. No director is attached as the film remains in early development.
