- Streep is concurrently preparing for the May 1 release of "The Devil Wears Prada 2," where she reprises her role as Miranda Priestly. This marks her third lead role in a limited series.
- The series joins the drama slate overseen by VP Nora Skinner as Netflix aggressively expands its prestige pipeline. The adaptation comes 25 years after Franzen published his National Book Award-winning novel, though a release date remains unannounced.
