NECO Releases 2026 SSCE Results, 58.67% Secures Five Credits
NECO said 1,162,118 candidates, or 84.70%, earned five credits and above as it released the 2026 SSCE results online.
- On Thursday, NECO Registrar Professor Dantani Wushishi announced the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination Internal results in Minna, Niger State. Of 1,378,048 registered candidates, 1,371,992 sat for the exam conducted from June 15 to July 23, 2026.
- Wushishi credited security agencies including the NSCDC and DSS for deterring wrongdoing during the exercise. Examination malpractice declined sharply to 1,406 candidates in 2026 from 3,878 in 2025, with results released 63 days after the final paper.
- Performance data shows 804,948 candidates, representing 58.67 per cent, obtained five credits including English Language and Mathematics. Meanwhile, 1,162,118 candidates, or 84.70 per cent, achieved five credits and above irrespective of core subject performance.
- Examinations were conducted across the 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and six foreign countries including Saudi Arabia and Togo. The Council facilitated 1,334 candidates with special needs, demonstrating commitment to examination inclusiveness.
- Candidates can access results on the NECO website using their examination registration numbers. Wushishi thanked President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Education Tunji Alausa for their support, affirming the Council's commitment to upholding examination integrity.
