Nebraska lawmakers seek to expand Medicaid reimbursement for doulas

Supporters said the change would expand access to doula care and could improve birth outcomes for mothers and babies.

The Legislature approved an amendment from Omaha Sen. Ashlei Spivey requiring the Department of Health and Human Services to submit a state plan amendment to reimburse doula services through Medicaid.
