Nebraska basketball guard out for season with ankle injury
Connor Essegian, senior guard for Nebraska, will miss the entire season due to an ankle injury, announced Saturday by the Cornhuskers men's basketball program.
- Saturday, Nebraska senior guard Connor Essegian announced he will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a significant right ankle injury in the game versus Winthrop.
- After tests following the Winthrop game on Nov. 25, Connor Essegian, senior guard, suffered a significant ankle injury and will apply for a medical hardship and medical redshirt.
- Essegian has played in all seven games this season, including a pair of double-figure performances, and last year he averaged 10.7 points while leading the Huskers with 78 three-pointers.
- Losing Essegian directly affects Nebraska's bench depth, as Husker coach Fred Hoiberg said, `I feel awful for Connor because of all the work he puts in and things he provides our team both on and off the court.`
- Nebraska remains undefeated this season and hosts Creighton on Dec. 7, a near-term test for the roster.
