Nearly Half of Infertility Cases Involve Men, Yet Most Skip Testing. PS Fertility Wants to Close the Gap.
The non-invasive PS Detect test measures sperm competency and is backed by $3.5 million in Series A funding, the company said.
PS Fertility launched PS Detect, a non-invasive at-home test measuring sperm competency, backed by $3.5 million in Series A funding on Thursday.
Nearly 50% of infertility cases involve a male factor, yet male testing remains underdiagnosed and often overlooked in clinical evaluations despite affecting 1 in 6 couples.
Supported by a $1.7 million NIH grant, PS Detect measures sperm competency rather than count alone, offering clinicians a clearer diagnostic pathway for male patients.
"For too long, the conversation about fertility has centered almost entirely on women," CEO Kevin Combs said, noting that excluding men from evaluations remains incomplete.
Clinicians can normalize male testing during routine check-ups by framing it as proactive rather than diagnostic, helping men take control of their fertility future.
