RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – School administrators in the counties hardest hit by Hurricane Helene are asking state lawmakers to take a variety of steps to help recover from the storm, Superintendent of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt (R) said Thursday. BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (KLFY) -- Louisiana first responders continue to help out their counterparts out of state, in the wake if the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
