NBA Cup Championship Game Leaving Las Vegas
The league said the move aims to showcase the in-season tournament on a historic basketball stage and keep the title game a signature event.
The NBA announced Tuesday that the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup Championship will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Dec. 11, marking the first time the final moves outside Las Vegas.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver sought 'storied college arenas' to host the event, aiming to bring the championship to 'distinctive stages that honor the sport's history' rather than returning to Las Vegas.
The arena, which seats about 9,100, hosted the 1954 Indiana High School Boys Basketball Tournament championship that inspired 'Hoosiers' and the 1955 Crispus Attucks High title game.
Butler Sr. Associate Athletic Director John Dedmon said the university 'expressed interest in hosting the event when we heard they were open to looking at options,' noting expanded programming across campus.
