Lithuania wants monument in Brussels for Nazi and Soviet crimes – president

Lithuania is working to have a monument to Nazi and Soviet crimes built in Brussels, President Gitanas Nausėda says.

Pehr Häggkvist (SD) has a tattoo in the shape of the wolf hook symbol. Among other things, it has been used by the Nazi organization White Aryan Resistance in the early 1990s. The symbol also appears in judgments for incitement against an ethnic group. Häggkvist himself believes that the sign symbolizes the Viking association in which he is active.

The Nazi Crimes Atlas app commemorates the National Socialists' abductions, expropriations and killings. It goes online for the 80th anniversary of the end of the World War.

Victim lawyer Christoph Rückel talks at radioeins about the legal review of the Nazi era in Germany. Despite the late trials against Nazi perpetrators, the conviction brings the survivors a sense of justice. The Oskar Gröning case was decisive for the legal sanctioning of the aid to murder. The historical memory of the crimes of Nazi Germany in Slovenia, especially in Maribor, is important, said the German Ambassador to Slovenia, Sylvia Groneick, at today's ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. In Slovenian, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity offered to cooperate in the spirit of reconciliation and a common European future.
