Latvia is building an automated anti-drone wall, similar to the one in Ukraine, along its entire eastern border with Russia. As Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis told Business Insider, the system is designed to make fighter jets the last line of defense, not the first. This should reduce the need to use expensive fighter jets and missiles to intercept cheap drones. The system is expected to be completed by the end of September.
