NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday stressed that accelerating defense production and innovation across the alliance is essential to strengthening deterrence and ensuring collective security.

Rutte said increased industrial output would directly support NATO’s deterrence and defence posture. “When you, all of you, produce more, our deterrence and defence posture is stronger, and we are all safer,” he said. The forum was organised by the United States and brought together more than 50 U.S. companies and Belgian industry representatives.
