National Sugar Cookie Day
Not a lot of ingredients go into the making of today’s national observance. It’s Sugar Cookie Day. There may always be some debate, but it’s believed the treat can be traced back to German Protestant settlers in the colony of Nazareth, Pennsylvania in the mid-1700s. The cookies were initially referred to as Nazareth Cookies, and baked in the shape of a keystone, the state’s defacto symbol.
