Connor Zilisch Breaks Collarbone in Fall After Xfinity Victory at Watkins Glen
SCHUYLER COUNTY, NEW YORK, AUG 10 – Connor Zilisch fell headfirst during his victory celebration after winning his sixth Xfinity Series race and was taken to a hospital alert for evaluation, NASCAR said.
- Connor Zilisch emerged victorious in the Mission 200 race held at Watkins Glen on August 9, 2025, but after celebrating in victory lane, he suffered a fall that resulted in a broken collarbone.
- While celebrating by climbing onto his car's roof, Zilisch lost his balance after his left foot became entangled in the window netting on the driver's side, resulting in a fall.
- He was briefly unresponsive, placed on a backboard, taken by ambulance to the on-site medical facility, and subsequently transferred to a hospital for further assessment.
- About two hours after the incident, Zilisch shared on X that he had fractured his collarbone, but scans confirmed there was no head trauma. Crew chief Mardy Lindley praised his effort, saying he did an excellent job climbing back through the field to take the lead.
- Zilisch will miss the Cup race the following day, but he is recovering and scheduled to return for the Xfinity race on August 22 at Daytona.
