The majority of the 120,000 Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh will leave and seek refuge in Armenia due to the recent territorial takeover by Azeri forces. They fear the repercussions of living under Azerbaijani rule.
Armenia's Prime Minister has prepared space for 40,000 people from Karabakh in Armenia, showing their readiness to accept and support their compatriots.
Azerbaijani authorities have stated that the Armenians can leave if they wish, highlighting the religious divide between the mainly Muslim Azerbaijan and the Christian Armenians.
