Myles Straw delivers clutch hits as Blue Jays take down Braves
On Thursday, Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Chad Dallas earned his first major league victory in his debut, helping stabilize a bullpen game as the Blue Jays defeated the Atlanta Braves 7-2 at Truist Park.
Toronto used left-hander Mason Fluharty as an opener, with six total pitchers combining to limit the Braves to just four hits throughout the game.
Myles Straw drove in three runs and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. collected three hits, forcing Atlanta ace Chris Sale to yield a season-high 10 hits.
After the Braves cut the lead to 3-2 on a Mauricio Dubon home run, Toronto scored four insurance runs in the ninth inning, allowing Louis Varland to secure his ninth save.
The win capped an emotional week for the 26-year-old Dallas, who learned on Lou Gehrig Day he would make his debut after losing his father to ALS in 2025.
