Murder investigation after young man stabbed at council headquarters near Wembley Stadium
Detectives say the victim was believed to be 17 and a 15-year-old suspect is in custody as police continue inquiries.
On Tuesday, August 25, a person died following a stabbing at Brent Civic Centre in Wembley. Emergency services arrived at approximately 2.25pm to respond to the incident.
Brent Civic Centre houses Brent Council and Wembley Library, both of which were evacuated following the incident. Officials subsequently urged the public to avoid the building while it remains closed.
At least 15 Metropolitan Police vehicles are stationed outside the Civic Centre. London Ambulance Service dispatched crews, paramedics, and the Air Ambulance to provide emergency support.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed the outcome, stating: "a patient was pronounced dead at the scene." Emergency personnel remain on-site as investigation continues.
Officials have not yet confirmed the exact location of the stabbing within the Civic Centre. Metropolitan Police and Brent Council have been contacted for further information.
