Munkácsy's Painting Was Transported Home with an Armed Escort

The magical painting Golgotha by Mihály Munkácsy is once again adorning the walls of the Déri Museum in Debrecen. The giant, nearly 33 square meter work spent more than half a year in Budapest, where it was seen by more than 150,000 people, along with the painter's other works, at the Museum of Fine Arts' large-scale exhibition Munkácsy - The Story of a World Success.
