Fraudster who sold fake Oasis tickets given community order
She sold fake VIP Wembley seats to 11 buyers and was ordered to complete a mental health treatment requirement and 30 rehabilitation days.
- On Monday, Rosie Slater received a 12-month community order at North Staffordshire Justice Centre after admitting 11 counts of fraud by false representation for selling fake Oasis concert tickets that defrauded 11 people of £4,000.
- Operating from Betley, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Slater falsely claimed access to VIP executive box seats at Wembley Stadium, advertising tickets for £130 to £160 through WhatsApp chat groups throughout May 2025.
- Her solicitor, Simon Leach, argued "she did not spend this money extravagantly," using proceeds for household bills; magistrates ordered £776.98 compensation to five victims plus £40 fine, £114 surcharge, and £85 costs.
- Detective Constable David Stubbs of Staffordshire Police stated the case involved multiple victims and significant loss, noting Slater acted "purely out of greed, exploiting her connections for personal gain." Some victims received reimbursements.
- Separately, the Competition and Markets Authority investigated Ticketmaster's 2024 Oasis sales, finding failures in 'platinum' ticket pricing transparency and now requiring 24-hour advance notice for tiered pricing systems.
