Multiple Wildfires Burning Near Tulameen

  • The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is tracking six fires in Electoral Area H, which were sparked by lightning and remain under investigation.
  • According to the BCWS, four of these fires measure 0.3 hectares, while the blaze closest to Tulameen is 10 hectares; a separate lightning-sparked fire near Kamloops has grown to about 50 hectares.
  • No action is required from residents at this time, as the Tulameen & District Fire Department supports BCWS crews in their response.
  • The RDOS Emergency Operations Centre remains fully staffed to monitor the situation as crews respond to fires burning in the Tulameen area.
