On World MS Day, Chennai Chapter of MSSI Raises Awareness
- On May 30, 2025, the Chennai branch of the MS Society organized an event at Anna Nagar Tower Park to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis.
- The campaign aligned with the 2025 World MS Day theme 'My MS Diagnosis', emphasizing early and accurate diagnosis due to frequent delays and low awareness.
- Around 40 attendees, including MSSI members and individuals with MS, engaged in activities promoting symptom recognition, neurologist consultation, and stress management techniques.
- Founder Ann Gonsalvez said the event offers yoga and art therapy to support patients, while neurologist Dr Venkatraman noted early detection helps manage symptoms and improve outcomes.
- The campaign aims to reduce stigma, increase community support, and improve quality of life for MS patients by raising public understanding and encouraging timely medical care.

Serbia does not have a national registry of multiple sclerosis sufferers, but it is estimated that there are around 9,000.
