MOUNT VERNON — The Illinois State Police responded Sunday afternoon to an eight-vehicle crash near milepost 92 on Interstate 57 southbound in Mount Vernon. According to the preliminary investigation, ISP Troop 10 received a report at 2:47 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, of a multi-vehicle pileup involving eight vehicles, including one jackknifed truck tractor semi-trailer.
