Muddy road hampers firefighter response to Casco Township barn fire

There are no reported injuries after South Haven Area Emergency Services put out a barn fire in Casco Township on Friday morning. Due to a muddy road preventing vehicle access, SHAES says firefighters had to stretch hundreds of feet of hose while trudging through mud to reach the fully engulfed structure at 71st Street along I-196. The barn was a total loss, although several goats, a horse, and a dog escaped the flames.
