Agriculture officials in Mississippi will soon accept a new wave of applications for the wild hog control program. Between Nov. 1 and Nov. 15, landowners and managers in all of the state’s 82 counties are eligible to request “smart” traps for the control of wild hogs on private agricultural and forestry properties in Mississippi. Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson announced that the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) will accept a new round of applications for its Wild Hog Control Program (WHCP) beginning Saturday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 15.
