Mrs. Sharon Lynn Lyon Clark

Mrs. Sharon Lynn (Lyon) Clark, age 73, of Vevay, Indiana, passed away at 11:16 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Waters of Dillsboro in Dillsboro, Indiana. She was born on June 14, 1953 in Madison, Indiana to Howard Raymond and Barbara June (Furnish) Lyon. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1971 graduate of Patriot High School. Sharon dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree in 1973 from University of Louisville/Ivy Tech of Madison and worked as an LPN at several long-term care facilities throughout her career. Her caring nature and compassion for others were a meaningful part of who she was. On May 10, 1991, Sharon married her best friend, Vernon Ray Clark. The two met while working at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Together, Sharon and Vernon became foster parents for the State of Indiana for several years, opening their hearts and home to children in need. They shared a love of raising animals, tending to their garden, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life together. Sharon loved her family dearly, especially her many nieces and nephews. She was happiest surrounded by the people and things she loved. She enjoyed reading Westerns and Stephen King novels, following IU basketball, and watching NASCAR. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her love of family, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. Sharon leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved her deeply. Though she is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and the memories she created with those around her will remain in their hearts. Sharon is survived by her brother-in-law, Ronald Houze of Rising Sun, IN; her nephew, Patrick Houze (Kelly) of Florence, KY; her nieces, Andrea Shackleford (Samuel) of Patriot, IN, and Faith Vinson (Walter) of Somerset, KY; her great-nephews, Clay Bruns (Sabrina) of Somerset, KY, Estin Bruns of Warsaw, KY, and Jackson Houze of Florence, KY; her great-niece, Kacey Houze of Florence, KY; and numerous cousins, including Carla Harsin, Jeffrey Harsin, Mike Lyon, Jerry Lyon, Russell Lyon, Julie Griffin (Gary), Sue Sams Tinker, Jane Clemmons, Bob Whitenack, Dick Whitenack, and Dave Whitenack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Raymond Lyon, died September 15, 2006 and Barbara June (Furnish) Lyon, died July 2, 2003; her beloved husband, Vernon Ray Clark, died July 12, 2012; and her sister, Rosann Marie Houze, died December 6, 2021. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
