Motorcyclist Dies in Malahat Highway Crash Near Mill Bay

A motorcyclist died Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. following a solo collision while traveling north on the Malahat stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway, close to Mill Bay.
The motorcyclist was heading north when they lost control and collided with the center median approximately 4 kilometers beyond the Malahat Summit, with police suggesting that speed may have been a contributing factor.
Emergency services sent one ambulance to the scene, but the motorcyclist was confirmed dead onsite, and no individuals were taken to the hospital as the highway remained closed in both directions for around three hours during the police investigation.
