Bezzecchi sets track record to take pole at Valencia Grand Prix
VALENCIA: Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi set a track record at Circuit Ricardo Tormo today to clinch pole position for the season-ending Valencia Grand Prix, while two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia failed to reach Q2 after stopping with a technical issue.
The Valencia GP qualifying is behind us. Italian Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest and will start Saturday's sprint race and Sunday's race from pole position. Alex Marquez was in second place, just over two hundredths of a second behind. Francesco Bagnaia had problems with his bike again and was unable to break through the slower group.
This Saturday’s was a record morning at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste. If Daniel Muñoz established the best track record in Moto2 in the FP2, it was Marco Bezzecchi who marked the new récrod of the circuit to take over the last pole of the season.
