Cheyann Reichard faces charges after shaking her 14-day-old infant causing five broken bones and two skull fractures, officials said.
- On Tuesday, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation after Child Protective Services reported an injured infant at a Dunkard Avenue apartment.
- The child's father told deputies he saw Cheyann Reichard violently shake the infant back and forth with its head unsupported and said she knocked the baby on the head at the store because it wouldn’t stop crying.
- Medical professionals found the injuries were non-accidental, including five broken bones, two skull fractures and possible brain injuries to the 14-day-old infant.
