People in EU countries prioritised issues like inflation and the cost of living.

Defence and security (36%) and competitiveness (32%) are the main political priorities at EU level. For Romanians, the priorities are food safety and agriculture (32%) and defence and security (31%).

Two-thirds of Europeans want the EU to play a greater role in protecting them from crises and security risks, according to the Winter 2025 Eurobarometer.
