In the final of the first stage of the Tour d'Algarve between Portimao and Lagos, the peloton took a road parallel to the one that was to lead to the finish line just after the red flame. Only a few riders followed the right route and it was the Italian Filippo Ganna who won, even if his victory was annecdotal in the light of the circumstances.
