The MP RN for the Moselle, Laurent Jacobelli, was tried this Tuesday in the Thionville Correctional Court, for the comments he had made in October 2023 in Hayange, towards his counterpart Belkhir Belhaddad, another MP for the Moselle, then under the label of the presidential majority.

Judged this Tuesday in Thionville for insulting his counterpart Belkhir Belhaddad during a ministerial visit to Hayange in October 2023, MP RN Laurent Jacobelli challenged any racist connotation of his remarks. He claims to have acted tempetuously in response to his colleague's "aggressive" behaviour.

The deputies of Moselle, Laurent Jacobelli (RN) and Belkhir Belhaddad (NI) finally confronted their arguments, Tuesday 17 June, before the criminal court in Thionville. The spokesman of the National Rally was prosecuted for contempt, insult and defamation for events dating back to October 2023. In the end, Laurent Jacobelli could receive a few hundred euros in fine.
