UA alum Sandi Morris captures World Ultimate pole vault title
Arkansas alum Sandi Morris captured the women’s pole vault title and $150,000 in prize money at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship with a clearance of 16 feet, 0.75 inches (4.90) on Saturday at Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Centre in Hungary.
American Sandy Morris won her first outdoor world title after clearing 4.90 meters to take gold in the vault at the Ultimate World Championships in Budapest. After four world championship silver medals and an Olympic silver, which complement her two indoor world titles, the 34-year-old athlete added to her impressive resume with her debut title in the new competition format. She beat compatriot Hannah Moll.
