On its website and on its social networks, the city of Fréjus said, on Thursday evening, that "two cases of chikungunya have been confirmed in the Valescure area. Therefore, an adulticid treatment will be carried out on Monday 18 August early in the morning on the area. This treatment is carried out with low doses of insecticides, without danger to the population".

Since mid-June, 13 cases of people infected with chikungunya have been recorded in the Gard. However, according to the Regional Health Agency, the episode is not closed.
