An unpublished study published by UNICEF Luxembourg reveals that more than 3,300 women and girls living in the country have undergone female genital mutilation or are at risk of being subjected to female genital mutilation. Behind these figures, a reality still not visible, which also concerns children born in Europe.

The aid organisation hopes that the provision of figures can help to better capture the number of victims.
