The Federal Council heard the protests this summer against the reductions foreseen in the Youth+Sport (J+S) programme. On Friday it decided to increase the budget allocated to this programme by 20 million francs this year and 28 million next year. These amounts are in addition to the annual allocation of 115 million.
Due to the federal budget constraints, the Federal Council wanted to cut the Youth + Sport program by 20 percent. The government has now backed away from this approach and is even increasing the funding.
