Three buses carrying a total of approximately 120 asylum seekers departed from Ter Apel around 10:00 PM for the Hanzeplaza convention center in Groningen, reports the Red Cross, which is providing assistance in Ter Apel. These are people for whom there is no room in the registration center for the coming night. They will spend the night in Groningen and will be brought back on Monday morning.
At the registration center in Ter Apel, the Red Cross also distributed meals on Sunday to about sixty asylum seekers awaiting a place to spend the night, a spokesperson for the aid organization reports. A local farmer also brought melons for the people on site, just as on Saturday. "Incredibly kind and very much appreciated by everyone," said the spokeswoman.
Approximately 120 asylum seekers were transported from the registration center in Ter Apel to Groningen on Sunday evening. The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) informed NU.nl of this. These are people for whom there is no room in the reception center in Ter Apel for the coming night.
