More Expensive Gasoline and Diesel to Expect – Regardless of Government

The price of gasoline and diesel will increase – regardless of which parties govern Sweden after the parliamentary elections next year. The reason is the EU's emissions trading system, which comes into force in 2027 and requires fuel companies to buy emissions rights. Early trading of emissions rights that has recently taken place indicates that it will be 2.5 kronor more expensive per liter of fuel.
