Leftist President Evo Morales said this Friday that there is a joint plan by the U.S. Drug Control Administration (DEA) and the Bolivian Army to carry out his detention this weekend, after Rodrigo Paz's government pointed out him as the main responsible for the blockades and anti-government protests that have been staged in the country in recent days.
Morales' statements occur one day after the government announced that the DEA will again have a presence in Bolivia.
The former president, who did not give evidence, said that former minister Carlos Sánchez Berzaín would be behind the action.
