MMA and Maine Coast Heritage Trust to improve firebreak between Witherle Woods and Castine Village
On September 13, Maine Coast Heritage Trust and Maine Maritime Academy, with assistance from the Castine Fire Department and Maine Forest Service, will partner to improve the firebreak between Witherle Woods and the village of Castine. There will be approximately 200 individuals working with handtools, felling small trees, and moving brush along the carriage road that runs parallel to the town from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
