MKBHD Is Shutting Down His iPhone Wallpaper App
MKBHD cites sustainability issues for app removal; annual subscribers will receive refunds and wallpapers remain accessible until shutdown, with code to be released afterward.
- On Monday, Marques Brownlee announced the Panels app will be removed from the Google Play Store and App Store and will shut down on December 31, 2025.

- All subscriptions will be automatically canceled when Panels is pulled from app stores, annual subscribers will be refunded after December 31, 2025, and purchased or downloaded wallpapers remain available until the shutdown while user data will be deleted.
- After the shutdown, the developers will open-source Panels' code, with more than 2 million wallpapers downloaded and Marques Brownlee having more than 20 million followers.
