Mizzou Soccer Suffers Sixth Loss in a Row in Falling to Commodores
Vanderbilt scored twice early and held a 19-5 shot advantage as Mizzou extended its losing streak to six games, remaining scoreless in the last five matches.
Thursday, Mizzou soccer lost 2-0 at Vanderbilt Soccer/Lacrosse Complex in Nashville as Vanderbilt maintained the lead through the final whistle in a shutout.
Scoring in the 11th and 19th minutes, Vanderbilt quickly moved ahead, forcing Mizzou soccer team to chase after entering the match scoreless in five games.
Tied for her second-most this season, Kate Phillips recorded six saves, including two key stops late, while Missouri nearly threatened with Emily Derucki's cross and Olivia Chianelli's 88th-minute shot.
Missouri's loss leaves the Tigers 4-9-1 overall and 1-6-0 in SEC play, and Mizzou travels to Texas A&M at Ellis Field on Thursday, October 16, 7:30 p.m., livestreamed on SEC Network+.
