- On Dec. 8, the Miss Universe Organization said Dr. Gabrielle Henry suffered an intracranial hemorrhage, fracture and facial lacerations after her Nov. 19 fall and will be flown to a hospital in Jamaica for further treatment.
- During the Nov. 19 preliminary competition in Thailand, she fell through an opening on stage while walking the evening gown segment, and the tumble was captured on video.
- Family statements noted ongoing treatment as she was rushed to Bangkok hospital and remains in critical condition under 24-hour specialist supervision, with the Henry family expressing gratitude.
- The Miss Universe Organization said it will cover her medical costs, paid medical and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, covered accommodation for her mother and sister, and denied media reports blaming Dr. Henry.
- The fall came amid a scandal‑marred 74th Miss Universe pageant, which included contestants who staged walkouts supporting Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch Fernández, and sanctions by pageant president Cantu against Nawat Itsaragrisil.
