Minnesota native Brock Nelson braces for split loyalties as Avs carry 2-0 lead over Wild into Game 3
The Minnesota native has a goal and an assist as Colorado carries a 2-0 series lead into Game 3.
Colorado Avalanche forward Brock Nelson returns to his home state as the Avalanche lead the Minnesota Wild 2-0 in their second-round playoff series heading into Saturday's Game 3 in St. Paul.
Nelson, who spent the first dozen seasons of his career with the New York Islanders, was acquired by Colorado on March 6, 2025.
Nelson recorded 33 goals and 32 assists while winning Olympic gold this season, continuing a family tradition started by grandfather Bill Christian and uncle Dave Christian.
Warroad residents view the series as a 'win-win,' since Nelson competes for his first Stanley Cup while the Wild chase their first championship.
Nelson admits he will 'put a lot of friendships on pause' for Saturday's matchup at the Grand Casino Arena, signaling his commitment to the series.
