The international rail line Rail Baltic is still expected to be built by 2030, but by significantly cutting the original project: the track will be one-wheel, two-tier interchanges will be smaller, and passenger platforms will be built in minimum performance.
The completion date for Rail Baltic is still 2030, but the railway will be completed by then with quite a few concessions, according to a report from the Ministry of Climate Change. However, over 400 million euros will need to be found for the construction of the railway in the next two years, which is currently unfunded.
In Estonia, for reasons of economy, they decided to break up the launch of the European Rail Baltica railway, which should provide high-speed connection of the Baltic states with the European railway network.
