Racist and xenophobic crimes increase in France

More than 16,000 hate crimes have been recorded in the country 2024, reports the Ministry of the Interior on Friday, 14 March. However, the increase is less marked than in 2023.
By 2023, the increase in crimes had reached about 30 per cent. By 2024, the trend was far from improving.
A total of 9,700 victims of racist acts had been identified, while 5,000 persons were involved.
Taking into account xenophobic or anti-religious facts, the increase was 11 per cent in 2024.
Interior Minister Sándor Pintér rewrote the title of the ministry in various instructions.
