Chile's Economy Rebounding in June, Quiroz Tells La Tercera
In a week marked by the fifth Imacec in red and a new rise in unemployment, the finance minister says that last June there was a turning point in the Chilean economy and that that month will already record an increase in activity. He recognizes that the “bencinazo” could have a marginal effect on consumption, and advances the changes that come in the mega-reform.
After President Kast stated that Chile has been experiencing a “structural stagnation” that has been dragging on for more than a decade and that the problem is not transitory, the Finance Minister said that “we have information that shows us that June marked a turning point.”
He said the government seeks to raise economic growth above 2% by encouraging private investment and without increasing the deficit.
