Foreign minister joins condemnation of new Israeli settlement project
Belgian Foreign minister Maxime Prévot has added his voice to international criticism of the new Israeli settlement project in the Palestinian West Bank. “This runs counter to the two-state solution,” he told Radio 1’s De Ochtend programme. “That is unacceptable.”
Belgium joined the list of countries opposing Israel's expansionist plans in the occupied West Bank, reiterating the defence of a two-State solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Government announced today.
Belgium's Foreign Minister, Maxime Prévot, has announced that his country joins the international call for Israel to stop "immediately" the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, including the so-called E1 project, located east of Jerusalem.
