Wike approves recruitment of 34 resident doctors for FCT hospitals
- Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has approved the recruitment of 34 resident doctors for a seven-year residency training to improve healthcare delivery in the FCT.
- Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister, stated that the 34 doctors are the first batch of 60 approved for residency training in eight specialties.
- The distribution of the first 34 doctors includes five in psychiatry, four in internal medicine, and one in general surgery, among others.
- The FCTA Civil Service Commission will recruit the remaining 26 doctors for additional specialties, as explained by Olayinka.
